About the Australian Embassy in Egypt
The Australian Embassy in Cairo is Australia’s resident diplomatic mission in Egypt and represents the Australian Government in its official relationship with Egypt.
Australia and Egypt established diplomatic relations in 1950, when Australia opened its Embassy in Cairo. The two countries maintain longstanding diplomatic, economic and people-to-people links.
The Embassy represents Australian interests with government, regional and multilateral organisations and supports cooperation across political, economic and other areas of the bilateral relationship.
The Cairo mission also represents Australia in Sudan and Eritrea, where Australia does not maintain resident embassies.

The Embassy operates an appointment system for passport applications and notarial services. Appointments should be booked through the Embassy’s official online booking service.
