About the Australian Embassy in Cambodia
The Australian Embassy in Phnom Penh is Australia’s resident diplomatic mission in Cambodia and represents the Australian Government in its official relationship with the Kingdom of Cambodia.
The Embassy supports Australia’s bilateral engagement with Cambodia across diplomatic, economic, development, security, education and people-to-people relations.
Australia’s Ambassador to Cambodia is Mr Derek Yip, a senior career officer with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The Embassy also provides consular and passport assistance to Australian citizens living in or travelling in Cambodia.

Consular assistance
Australian citizens living or travelling in Cambodia can contact the Embassy for consular advice and assistance. An appointment is not normally required for general consular assistance.
Australian passports
Australian passport renewals, replacements and new applications can be lodged through the Embassy. In-person passport applications require an appointment.
Notarial services
The Embassy provides eligible notarial services including certified copies, witnessing signatures, statutory declarations, apostilles, authentications and certificates of no impediment to marriage.
Notarial requirements: notarial services are provided by appointment only and generally apply to documents that are Australian in origin or intended for use in Australia.
Visitor arrangements
Appointments at the Australian Embassy in Phnom Penh
Appointments are required for in-person passport applications and notarial services. Clients without an appointment are generally only seen in exceptional circumstances.
Appointments can currently be booked up to four weeks in advance. Visitors are admitted to the Embassy no earlier than 10 minutes before their scheduled appointment.
The Embassy states that an appointment may be forfeited if the client arrives more than 10 minutes after the scheduled appointment time.
Appointments are not required for general consular enquiries and assistance, emergency passport applications, passport enquiries or passport and document collection.
Plan ahead: select the correct service when booking and bring all required identification, application forms, photographs and supporting documents.

Passport services in Cambodia
Australian passport renewals, replacement applications and new passport applications can be lodged through the Australian Embassy in Phnom Penh.
Some eligible passport applications can be submitted by mail. Applicants who need to lodge their application in person must make an appointment before attending the Embassy.
Australian passports lodged overseas are printed in Australia. The Embassy advises applicants to allow a minimum of six weeks from payment for processing and delivery.
Priority passport processing is not available overseas. Australians living in Cambodia should therefore check their passport validity well before planned international travel.
Emergency passports: emergency passport applications must be lodged in person. The Embassy publishes separate requirements for travellers who have an urgent need to travel.
