About the Australian Embassy in Iraq
The Australian Embassy in Baghdad is Australia’s resident diplomatic mission in Iraq and represents the Australian Government in its official relationship with the Republic of Iraq.
The Embassy supports Australia’s diplomatic relationship with Iraq and works on bilateral, economic, security and other areas of cooperation between the two countries.
The mission also provides limited consular, passport and notarial services to Australian citizens in Iraq.

Applicants who do not qualify for the temporary digital upload service may need to lodge their application in person at the Australian Embassy in Baghdad by appointment.
Postal applications
The Embassy also publishes postal lodgement arrangements for eligible passport applications. Check the current instructions before sending original documents or application material.
The temporary digital upload service is currently available to eligible applicants in Iraq who have held a 10-year Australian passport issued since 1 January 2006, or who are lodging an application for a child, provided they have an eligible delivery address in Iraq.
Passport applications lodged through the digital service are reviewed before payment is processed. The Embassy may contact applicants if additional documents or information are required.
