The Australian Embassy in Dublin is Australia’s resident diplomatic mission in Ireland and represents the Australian Government in its official relationship with Ireland.
Australia and Ireland have longstanding political, economic and people-to-people links, supported by strong historical connections and significant communities of Irish heritage in Australia and Australians living in Ireland.
The Embassy supports bilateral relations between Australia and Ireland and provides consular, passport and eligible notarial services to Australian citizens.

Australian passports
Eligible adult and child passport renewals can be lodged by mail. Passport applications that do not qualify for postal lodgement must be submitted in person at a pre-booked appointment.
Notarial services
The Embassy provides eligible Australian notarial and document legalisation services. Some services can be completed by mail, while services requiring signatures or declarations must be completed in person.
Visa and citizenship enquiries: Australian visa, migration and citizenship matters are administered by the Australian Department of Home Affairs. The Embassy does not provide individual immigration advice.

Appointments at the Australian Embassy in Dublin
Visitor access to the Australian Embassy in Dublin is by appointment only.
If your passport application requires personal attendance, you must book an appointment before visiting the Embassy. First-time passports, lost or stolen passport replacements, applications for 16- or 17-year-olds, name changes and other applications that do not qualify for renewal by mail must generally be lodged in person.
In-person notarial services are available by appointment Monday to Friday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Certain notarial services, including eligible Apostille, Authentication and certified-copy applications, can also be submitted by registered mail.
Urgent passport or consular matters: contact the Embassy on +353 1 664 5300 if your matter is urgent rather than relying on the standard online appointment process.

Passport services in Ireland
The Australian Embassy in Dublin accepts eligible passport renewal applications by mail. All other passport applications must be lodged in person at a pre-booked appointment.
Adult renewals by mail
An eligible PC7 adult renewal can be lodged by mail if the applicant is aged 18 or older and their previous Australian passport meets the current renewal requirements, including having been issued on or after 1 January 2006 and when the holder was aged 16 or older.
Child renewals by mail
An eligible PC8 child renewal can be lodged by mail where the child is aged 15 or younger and their previous Australian passport meets the current renewal requirements.
Applications that do not qualify for renewal by mail must be lodged in person. This includes first-time passports, passports for applicants aged 16 or 17, lost or stolen passports, applications involving a name change, damaged passports and other non-renewal applications.
Mailing passport applications: eligible postal applications should be sent by An Post Registered to the Passport Office, Australian Embassy, Level 3, 47/49 St Stephen’s Green, Dublin, D02 W634. Follow the current Embassy instructions carefully and do not send original documents unless specifically instructed.
