About the Australian High Commission in Kenya
The Australian High Commission in Nairobi is Australia’s resident diplomatic mission in Kenya and an important regional mission for East Africa.
The High Commission represents the Australian Government and supports Australia’s relationships across diplomacy, trade, development, education, security, humanitarian cooperation and people-to-people links.
In addition to Kenya, the High Commission is accredited to Burundi, Rwanda, Somalia, Tanzania and Uganda.
The mission also represents Australia in its engagement with the East African Community, the United Nations Environment Programme and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme.
The current Head of Mission is Mr Andrew Barnes, Acting High Commissioner to Kenya.

The Australian High Commission in Nairobi provides consular assistance, Australian passport services and eligible notarial services.
Consular assistance
The High Commission provides consular assistance to Australians travelling or living in Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda and Tanzania, subject to the limits set out in the Australian Government’s Consular Services Charter.
Australian passports
Passport applications can be lodged in person by appointment. Eligible adult passport renewals and eligible child renewals can also be submitted by postal mail.
Notarial services
Eligible Australian notarial services are available through the High Commission. In-person notarial services require an appointment.
Somalia: Australia’s capacity to provide consular assistance to Australians in Somalia is limited. Travellers should check current Australian Government advice before relying on consular assistance in the country.
Visa and citizenship enquiries: staff at the Australian High Commission in Nairobi cannot provide individual visa advice. Australian visa and citizenship applications are managed by the Department of Home Affairs.
