About the Australian Embassy in Mexico
The Australian Embassy in Mexico City is Australia’s resident diplomatic mission to the United Mexican States.
Australia and Mexico established diplomatic relations in 1966. The Embassy supports Australia’s diplomatic, security, trade, investment and broader bilateral interests in Mexico and across its countries of non-resident accreditation.
The Embassy also provides consular assistance and Australian passport services across its regional area of responsibility, supported by a network of Honorary Consuls and consular sharing arrangements.

Passport applications can be lodged following the Embassy’s current application arrangements. Interviews can be conducted at the Embassy or, where available, through an appropriate Australian Honorary Consulate.
Notarial services
The Embassy provides eligible Australian notarial services including witnessing signatures, certified copies, Apostilles, Authentications and Certificates of No Impediment to Marriage.
Honorary Consuls and notarial services: Australian Honorary Consuls in the region do not provide notarial services. These services are provided by the Australian Embassy in Mexico City.
Visa and immigration matters: Australian visa, migration and citizenship services are administered by the Australian Department of Home Affairs. The Embassy’s general and consular telephone lines do not provide visa or immigration information.

Appointments at the Australian Embassy in Mexico City
Australian passport applicants can complete the appropriate application and then arrange an appointment to lodge the application in person at the Embassy where an interview is required.
Passport interviews may also be available through the nearest Australian Honorary Consulate in the region. Contact the relevant post before making travel arrangements.
