The Australian Embassy in Lima is Australia’s resident diplomatic and consular mission to Peru and is also responsible for Australia’s diplomatic relations with Bolivia.
The Embassy works to strengthen Australia’s bilateral relations and cooperation with Peru and Bolivia, promote trade and investment opportunities and support Australians in the region.
The mission is supported by Australian consular representation in Cusco, Peru, and La Paz, Bolivia.

Eligible adult passport renewals and eligible child renewals for children up to 15 years old can be lodged by mail. Applications that are not eligible for mail lodgement require a passport interview.
Notarial services
Eligible Australian notarial services are provided at the Embassy in Lima by appointment. Notarial services for Peru and Bolivia can only be performed at the Australian Embassy in Lima.
Visa and citizenship matters: the Australian Embassy in Lima cannot respond to Australian visa or citizenship enquiries. These matters are administered by the Australian Department of Home Affairs.

Passport applications requiring personal attendance and all notarial services are provided by appointment.
Applicants should check whether their passport application qualifies for mail lodgement before booking an in-person passport interview.

Arrival: clients should arrive approximately five minutes before their appointment to allow time for security screening. Appointment bookings can normally be made up to two months in advance.

Eligible adult passport renewals and eligible child renewal applications for children up to 15 years old can be submitted by mail.
Book when required
First-time passports, applications for people aged 16 or 17 and certain replacement applications must still be lodged in person by appointment.

The Embassy operates as a cashless office. Passport and notarial payments are processed by eligible credit or debit card according to the current service instructions.
Passport processing: eligible passport renewal applications lodged by mail require a minimum of six weeks plus transit time after payment has been taken. Incomplete applications can take longer.
Original documents: applicants attending a passport interview must present the original documents required for the application. Notarised copies are not accepted in place of originals where original documents are required.
