About the Australian Embassy in Mongolia
The Australian Embassy in Ulaanbaatar is Australia’s resident diplomatic mission to Mongolia.
The Embassy represents the Australian Government and supports the bilateral relationship between Australia and Mongolia across diplomacy, trade and investment, education, development cooperation and people-to-people links.
The mission also provides consular assistance to Australians in Mongolia, Australian passport services and eligible notarial services.

The Embassy accepts Australian passport applications and provides passport interviews by appointment. Application requirements depend on whether you are renewing a passport or lodging a new application.
Notarial services
Eligible Australian notarial services are available by appointment during the Embassy’s designated passport and notarial service hours.
Australian visas and citizenship: the Australian Embassy in Mongolia does not issue Australian visas or approve Australian citizenship applications. Visa and citizenship matters are administered by the Australian Department of Home Affairs.

Passport processing: allow a minimum of six weeks to receive a normal Australian passport after lodging a complete application with suitable photographs and supporting documents.
Urgent passports: full-validity passports cannot be processed in Ulaanbaatar in less than three weeks. Priority Processing is only offered to eligible applicants in Australia. Emergency passports may be available in qualifying urgent circumstances.
