The Australian Consulate-General in Dubai is a professional Australian Government post providing consular, passport and notarial services to Australian citizens in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
The post is managed by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) and also supports Australia’s trade, investment and commercial engagement with the United Arab Emirates.
The Australian Embassy in Abu Dhabi is Australia’s principal diplomatic mission in the United Arab Emirates and provides consular services for Australians in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

Notarial services
Authorised consular officers provide Australian notarial services including witnessing signatures and declarations, certifying copies, apostilles, authentications and Certificates of No Impediment to Marriage.
Australian visas: the Department of Home Affairs at the Dubai Consulate-General no longer processes Australian visa applications. The Consulate-General does not respond to visa enquiries. Visa and citizenship information is available through the Australian Department of Home Affairs.

Passport and notarial services requiring personal attendance are provided by appointment at the Australian Consulate-General in Dubai.
Passport appointments
Applicants who need to lodge their Australian passport application in person can book an appointment at the Consulate-General. Applicants aged 16 and over are generally required to attend their passport interview personally.
Notarial appointments
Notarial services are provided by appointment. Before attending, confirm with the receiving authority exactly which notarial service is required and bring the necessary original documents and identification.
Applications by mail or courier: some eligible adult renewals and eligible child passport applications can be mailed, couriered or delivered to the Consulate-General. First-time child applications and applications for children aged 16 or 17 must be lodged in person.
Processing time: current official guidance advises allowing at least six weeks to receive a new Australian passport. Priority processing is not available for passport applications submitted overseas.
