About the Australian Embassy in Morocco
The Australian Embassy in Rabat is Australia’s resident diplomatic mission to the Kingdom of Morocco.
Australia and Morocco established formal diplomatic relations in 1976. Australia established a resident diplomatic presence in Rabat in 2017.
The Embassy represents the Australian Government in Morocco and supports the bilateral relationship between the two countries. It also provides consular assistance, Australian passport services and eligible notarial services.

The Australian Embassy in Rabat provides consular assistance, Australian passport services and a limited range of eligible notarial services.
Consular assistance
Australians living in or visiting Morocco can seek consular assistance from the Embassy in accordance with the Australian Government’s Consular Services Charter.
Australian passports
The Embassy accepts Australian passport applications. Eligible simple passport renewals can be lodged by mail, while applications that are not eligible for postal lodgement must be submitted in person by appointment.
Notarial services
The Embassy provides limited notarial services including certified copies, witnessing signatures, legalising eligible Australian documents and Certificates of No Impediment to Marriage.
Moroccan documents: the Australian Embassy cannot legalise Moroccan documents. Documents issued in Morocco must follow the applicable Moroccan legalisation process.
Visa and immigration matters: Australian embassies do not provide Australian visa or immigration services. Visa, citizenship and immigration matters are administered by the Australian Department of Home Affairs.

Appointments at the Australian Embassy in Rabat
Access to the Embassy is by appointment only for the limited passport, consular and notarial services that require personal attendance.
Passport applicants who are not eligible to lodge their application by mail must arrange an appointment and submit their application in person.
Notarial appointments are available on Thursdays. Applicants should confirm exactly what the authority receiving their document requires before booking a notarial service.
For notarial appointments: bring valid identification and the original documents required for your service. Do not sign a document in advance when your signature must be witnessed by a consular officer.

Passport processing: the Embassy advises applicants to allow around six weeks from acceptance of a complete passport application until the new passport is ready for collection.
Passport collection: new passports cannot be mailed to applicants in Morocco. They must be collected from the Embassy in Rabat, either by the applicant or by an appropriately authorised person.
