About the Australian Embassy in Sweden
The Australian Embassy in Stockholm is Australia’s resident diplomatic mission to the Kingdom of Sweden.
The Embassy represents the Australian Government and supports Australia’s relationships with Sweden, Finland and Latvia across diplomacy, trade, investment and other areas of cooperation.
The Embassy also provides consular and Australian passport services to Australian citizens in Estonia.
Australia’s Ambassador to Sweden is Ms Frances Sagala.

The Australian Embassy in Stockholm provides consular assistance, Australian passport services and eligible notarial services.
Consular assistance
Australians in Sweden, Finland, Latvia and Estonia can contact the Embassy for consular assistance in accordance with the Australian Government’s Consular Services Charter.
Australian passports
Eligible adult and child passport renewals can be submitted by mail. Applications that require an interview can be lodged by appointment in Stockholm or, for residents of Finland, Latvia and Estonia, through the relevant Australian Honorary Consul.
Notarial services
The Embassy provides eligible notarial services including certified copies, witnessing signatures, Apostilles and Authentication certificates, affidavits and Certificates of No Impediment to Marriage.
Visa and citizenship matters: the Australian Embassy in Stockholm does not process or answer enquiries about Australian visas. Visa, immigration and citizenship matters are administered by the Australian Department of Home Affairs.

Appointments at the Australian Embassy in Stockholm
Access to the Embassy is by appointment. Passport and notarial appointments in Stockholm can be booked through the Embassy’s online appointment system.
If you live in Finland, Latvia or Estonia and your passport application requires an interview, you may also be able to arrange an appointment with the Australian Honorary Consul in Helsinki, Riga or Tallinn.
The Honorary Consul conducts the required passport interview and sends the application to the Australian Embassy in Stockholm for processing.
Notarial services: Australian Honorary Consuls in Helsinki, Riga and Tallinn cannot provide notarial or legal services. These services are performed by the Australian Embassy in Stockholm.

Prepare for payment
Passport and notarial fees can be paid by Visa, Mastercard or American Express bank card. Cash and mobile payment services such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and Swish are not accepted.
Passport processing: current Embassy guidance advises allowing up to six weeks after successful lodgement for a new passport to arrive at the Embassy. Additional delivery time may be required if the passport is returned to you by post.
Adult renewal by mail: do not send your current passport with an eligible PC7 postal renewal. Your existing passport can remain valid during processing until its expiry or subsequent cancellation.
Notarial services: some notarial services can be requested by post, while others require an in-person appointment at the Australian Embassy in Stockholm.
